Rosneft Oil Company has announced the results of the 19th Best in Profession competition, which is held annually among representatives of the Company’s main professional and engineering specialties. In the final round, 600 employees competed for the title of best, and including the qualifying rounds, more than 10,000 workers and engineers took part in the competition.

The Best in Profession competition is an important part of the Company’s motivation and training programme, as well as raising the level of employees’ professional skills, the prestige of the professions, production culture and industrial safety. The competition promotes team spirit and employee engagement.

The final round of the competition was held separately for each field in three Russian cities in order to broaden the scope of the event and share best practice among the Company’s enterprises.

Competitors in the oil refining and petrochemicals sector competed in Ufa at Bashneft’s production sites. 140 employees from 21 subsidiaries competed in nine nominations.

Oil and gas production professionals met in Samara at Samaraneftegaz facilities. 285 employees from 26 enterprises took part in the competitions in 11 industrial and two engineering and technical fields.

The best specialists in the supply of petroleum products were identified in St Petersburg at the production sites of RN-Severo-Zapad. 175 employees from 35 marketing enterprises competed in seven nominations.

The knowledge, skills and expertise of the contestants were impartially assessed by 147 judges from the management of Rosneft’s core businesses and subsidiaries.

The Company’s priority is to take care of its employees, preserve their lives and health, and create comfortable working conditions. This is why the competition programme includes sections on occupational safety and health every year. At the end of the day, awards were presented to the top performers in each of the professions who achieved the best results in the area of safe operation.
