Zvezda Shipyard Hands Over New Residential Buildings in New Residential Area in Bolshoi Kamen

12 July 2022

The Zvezda shipyard has commissioned the first two houses in the new Parkovy residential area in Bolshoi Kamen. During the festive ceremony, employees received the keys to 180 apartments.

The formation of the necessary urban social infrastructure is part of Rosneft’s comprehensive programme to build the first modern high-tech shipyard, unique in Russia.

The commissioned two 9-storey buildings with 90 appartments each are the next phase of the housing project for Zvezda employees. The appartments have been fully decorated and fitted with sanitary ware, appliances and the necessary furniture. A children’s playground has been installed in the area around the house, and two sports fields are under construction. There will be 10 houses with a total of 830 apartments in the residential area.

Over 4,800 people are already working at the Zvezda shipyard and by the time all the facilities are commissioned, their number will have exceeded 7,000. Including their family members, the population of Bolshoi Kamen will increase by almost a third, and providing the shipbuilders with accommodation and infrastructure is one of the priority tasks.

The housing programme for the shipyard employees has been in place since 2016. During this time, Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex has commissioned and occupied 18 residential buildings in three residential areas. At the same time, design and construction work continues in several residential areas at once – Parkovy, Sadovy, Nagorny, Zeleny, Fifth (second phase) and Sixth (first phase).

According to the project concept, the contractors of Zvezda will build more than 5,000 apartments in six residential areas in the Bolshoi Kamen Advanced Socio-Economic Development Area. The construction of a further 750 apartments in the Solnechny residential area is the responsibility of the Government of Primorsky Territory. The total area of the new buildings will be about 300,000 square metres of housing.

Note for Editors:

The Zvezda Shipbuilding complex is created in the Far East by the Rosneft-led investor Consortium upon the instruction of President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

Zvezda is designed to manufacture large-capacity vessels, ice-class ships with water displacement of up to 350,000 tonnes, special-purpose vessels, and other marine equipment, some of which has never been produced in Russia before.
